Xin Zhao

Xin Zhao is a first-year doctoral student in the Department of Ocean Science and Engineering at the Southern University of Science and Technology, China. Her main research interest focuses on the biogeochemical process in global carbon cycling, especially in the deep-sea environment. She graduated from Jilin University, China with a Master of Engineering in 2017. Then worked in the group she is in now as a research assistant for 2 years. Her current work specializes in understanding the microbial community respiration and key factors that control this process in Chile Trench.
