She was elected academician of CAS in 2009, academician of Third World Academy of Sciences, and served as the General Engineer of the national mega scientific project, the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST), president of the Chinese Astronomical Society, committee member of Optical and Infrared Branch and Astronomical Instrumentation Branch in the International Astronomical Union

Prof. Cui is mainly engaged in the field of large astronomical telescope design and construction.
