William Waites

William Waites is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree with School of Informatics, The University of Edinburgh, U.K. He is currently a Research Associate with the Synthsys Centre for Mammalian Synthetic Biology and also with the Laboratory for Foundations of Computer Science, School of Informatics, The University of Edinburgh. He has also worked extensively in the development of communications infrastructure in rural and remote locations, including conflict zones, fragile states, and areas afflicted by natural disasters. His research interests are in mathematical and computational modeling of biological organisms and populations to understand the emergence of structure and spreading of disease.
