William C Cranwell

Dr William Cranwell is a consultant dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. Dr Cranwell completed his specialist training at tertiary hospitals in Melbourne, including The Alfred Hospital, The Royal Melbourne Hospital, St Vincent's Hospital and Box Hill Hospital. He was the recipient of the Australasian College of Dermatologists Research Fellowship to undertake training at the prestigious St John's Institute of Dermatology, London. During specialist training, Dr Cranwell was the recipient of the Founders’ Medal for the highest overall score in Australia in the Procedural fellowship examinations. He also received the Adrian Johnson Memorial Prize for best publication in the Australasian Journal of Dermatology as the primary author of the Australian Expert Consensus Statement for the treatment of alopecia areata. Dr Cranwell is widely published in Australian and International medical journals and speaks at local and international seminars and conferences. He is a peer reviewer for Australian and International journals including the British Journal of Dermatology and Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology. He has experience as a sub-investigator for international clinical trials. He is actively involved in the education of Dermatology trainees, Junior Doctors and General Practitioners.
