He has published more than 240 peer-reviewed publications (h = 22, 2.260 citations) including 5 patents, 3 books, and 7 book chapters. In 2016, he became Regional Editor (Region: South America) of Current Organic Synthesis. He is also editorial board member of Current Organic Synthesis (2003) and Mini-Reviews in Organic Chemistry (2016). He was principal tutor of 40 graduated and 30 under graduated students, both in Russia and Colombia. He received various awards in Pharmacology, Oncology and Phyto-pharmaceutical science. In 2012, he received National Science Award, Colombian Association for the Advancement of Science. He is Corresponding Member of the Colombian Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences from 2014. His current research activities focus on heterocyclic diversity-oriented synthesis, green synthetic methodologies, interface between chemistry and biology.
