Victor M. Balcão, PhD in Biotechnology (Science and Food Engineering) by the College of Biotechnology of the Portuguese Catholic University in 1998. Associate Professor at the University Fernando Pessoa in Porto from 2000 to 2013, where he continued developing research work in the area of structural and functional stabilization of protein entities. He has published more than 40 papers indexed in ISI Web of Knowledge journals, and nowadays he is involved in research on the structural and functional stabilization of protein entities, and on new intelligent biosensing devices based on protein entities. Currently, Victor M. Balcão is an Associate Professor of Industrial Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the University of Sorocaba (Sorocaba/SP, Brazil).
