In our research group, we are primarily concerned with the role of attachment-based emotion regulation in addiction and related disorders, based on a bio-psycho-social understanding of health and disease. In this context, we examine psychodynamic concepts through the lens of neurobiology. Another important research focus, especially as a potential therapeutic variable, is the spiritual dimension of human perception (including mystical experiences).
