I conduct observational research evaluating clinical outcomes among persons living with or at risk for HIV, with a focus on U.S. military service members, sexual and gender minority populations, elite controllers, and individuals diagnosed during acute HIV infection. I also conduct clinical trials of preventive vaccine candidates for HIV and other infectious diseases as well as novel interventions to achieve durable suppression of HIV without daily antiretroviral therapy.
