She is a member of the British Breast Group and a core committee member of the National Clinical Advisory Group and the Early Diagnosis Advisory Group for Cancer Research UK. She is a member of the strategy board for the India-Oxford Initiative in the University.

Her main research interests are in the epidemiology, outcomes and experiences of breast cancer in women of different ethnicities in the UK and of non-communicable disease in general, and breast cancer in particular, as a global health concern.
