I am an experienced biomedical scientist with a background in medicinal chemistry and drug design. I have a strong record of histological and cytological analyses of tissue and cells as well as complex primary assay design and I offer consultancy services through University College London Consultants. I am able to work independently, multi-task and also have extensive experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Daily management of multiple parallel projects
- Management of technical assistance personnel and mentoring of students
- Periodical reporting of projects through progress reports and scientific publications
- Administration of project budgets
- Preparation of project proposals and related documentation for submission to funding bodies

Endocytic machinery of the barrier epithelia and early stage drug discovery
RESEARCH TECHNICAL SKILLS
Extensive experience with isolation and culturing of primary and immortalized cell lines, with particular expertise in retinal pigment epithelium cells.
My main technical expertise is focused on histological and cytological analyses of tissue and cells
- Tissue fixation, isolation, dissection and preparation for histological/cytological investigation
- Immunological staining and microscopic analyses of tissue by light-, confocal- and transmission electron microscopy
- Ultrastructural analyses of tissue using transmission electron microscopy
Additional technical expertise includes
- Molecular techniques; PCR, RT-PCR, direct Sanger sequencing, site-directed mutagenesis
- Biochemical techniques: western blotting, ÄKTA size exclusion chromatography
- Extensive experience of handling adherent cells in multi-well plates and Hyperflasks.
- Live cell imaging using the IncuCyte S3 system.
- Use of specialised software for data acquisition and analysis such as GraphPad, Image Studio, Image J, Celleste, Zeiss Zen and IncuCyte S3
