New initiative to develop "telomere-to-telomere" complete genome assemblies of a large number of species in the ruminant clade, to support comparative analyses and conservation efforts. Other projects include metagenome and protist assembly to explore relationships of the rumen microbiome with greenhouse gas production and feed efficiency in cattle, and immune repertoire analysis to inform vaccine development.
