Investigating the role of air pollution exposure in the progression of cardiometabolic diseases. We focus on redox and inflammatory mechanisms leading to impaired mitochondrial function, myocardial infarction, heart failure, and obesity. We use a wide variety of in vitro settings and animal models of acute and chronic exposure to environmental fine particulate matter (PM2.5) in combination with cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.
