His clinical interests are rectal cancer, laparoscopic colorectal surgery, function-preserving procedures for rectal cancer, and fecal incontinence surgery. Currently he has been studying about the innervation of denervated muscle and tissue engineered muscle. Until recently, his international publication is beyond 150 including articles published in Lancet Oncology and Lancet Regional Health - Western Pacific.
