In his previous position at Kaiser Permanente, he had oversight of the research programs in the Southern California Region, including the Department of Research and Evaluation, and the infrastructure that supports those programs. The research programs encompass a broad range of clinical, epidemiologic and health services research that capitalize on the rich research resources in the Region, including its 4.7 million diverse members.

Dr. Jacobsen is a chronic disease epidemiologist with a long-standing interest in men’s urological health, cardiovascular diseases, developmental disorders and vaccines.

He has authored or co-authored more than 500 papers in the peer-reviewed literature and has served on numerous editorial boards and NIH study sections and panels.
