Trypanosomatids are a group of protozoan parasites that cause a wide range of disease such as African sleeping sickness, visceral/cutaneous leishmaniasis & Chagas disease. Using biochemical, cell biology, gene cloning & functional genomic approaches, my research looks at various aspects of anti-parasitic chemotherapy including determining how existing drug treatments work, investigating mechanisms of drug resistance & characterization of unusual biochemical pathways.
