Prof. Eliana B. Souto (Souto, E.B.) is affiliated with the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto, Portugal. Eliana is graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Coimbra (2000), holds a Master Science's degree in Pharmaceutical Technology from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto (2002), and the PhD in Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology from the Institute of Pharmacy of the Free University Berlin, Germany (2005). Her work is focused on the design, development, and characterization of new drug delivery systems for the controlled delivery of drugs across biological barriers, with especial emphasis for ocular and skin administration. Eliana Souto is Associate Editor, member of the Editorial Board, and reviewer of several international scientific journals. She counts with more than 400 scientific publications in the field of Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies.
