My research concerns many aspects of the theory of strongly correlated condensed matter systems with a particular focus
on spin-dependent and phase-coherent phenomena (‘mesoscopics’) in nanostructures such as quantum wires, quantum dots, carbon nanotubes, semi-conducting heterostructures, etc. At this length scale, quantum effects, such as the wave nature of the electron, local magnetism, superconductivity, play a prominent role.
More generally, l hold a general interest for strongly correlated systems in condensed matter and quantum optics among which
Transport in correlated nanosystems and its non-equilibrium features (includes hybrid electronic-cavity QED systems)
New topological states of matter such as topological insulators and superconductors and their exotic excitations.
Quantum spintronics
Strongly correlated quantum systems in low dimensions.
I am mainly using analytical methods based on quantum field theory, such as diagrammatics, renormalization group approaches, etc.
