Shigeru Aoki

Shigeru Aoki received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in geophysics from the Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan, in 1990 and 1992, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in science from the Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan, in 1995. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow in physical oceanography with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Tokyo, Japan, in 1995, and a Research Associate with the National Institute for Polar Research, Itabashi (currently, Tachikawa), Japan, from 1995 to 2003. Since 2003, he has been an Associate Professor with the Institute of Low Temperature Science, Hokkaido University, Hokkaido, Japan. His research interests include physical oceanography and climate change in the Southern Ocean and Antarctica.
