Sergio Morera

Dr. Sergio Morera is a principal researcher in the Geophysical Institute of Peru. His scientific contributions were based on hydrology and fluvial sediment transport data from the Peruvian Pacific watersheds. Currently, he is PI of two Peruvian scientific research projects: (i) one of them is focus on estimate the magnitude of erosion and identify the sediment sources by using modern hydrometric equipment and geochemical tracers, respectively. ii) the second one has the challenge to determine the influence of the Paramo ecosystem in the regulation of water resources, as well as their influence in the control of erosion on steep slopes, by using fallout radionuclide and isotopes as tracer to study sediment transport and sedimentation in short-term and long-term in Andean mountain.
