We investigate van der Waals materials and molecular layers, with an emphasis on the physics of electron transport and of layer interaction. Our longer term aim is to understand an engineer material properties that emerge from combining different layers. For our research, we use and develop novel LEEM (low-energy electron microscopy) techniques, including a new form of TEM (transmission EM) that operates at energies as low as 0-50 eV. We combine LEEM with conductance experiments.
