Semih Akin

Dr. Semih Akin is a Post-doctoral Research Associate at Purdue University, West Lafayette. He received his Ph.D. from Purdue University in 2022, where his research focused on sustainable and scalable manufacturing of functional smart surfaces for state-of-the-art fields, including printed electronics, electronic textiles, and energy harvesting devices. During doctoral studies, he received various awards and recognitions, including Ward A. Lambert Teaching Fellowship, Outstanding Graduate Research Award, Graduate Teaching Award, Italian Packaging Technology Award, Best Paper Award at World Congress on Micro-and Nano Manufacturing (WCMNM 2021), and alike. His research interests include multi-scale additive manufacturing, micro-and nano-manufacturing, and sustainable manufacturing for printed flexible electronics and energy harvesting applications. He has published more than 15 peer-reviewed research papers in leading international journals and conferences. He is also a member of the ASME and actively serves as a referee for several international journals.
