Sébastien Petit-Watelot received the engineering degree in physics from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Physique de Grenoble (currently PHELMA) in 2004, and the Diplôme d’Etude Approfondie degree from Université Joseph Fourier (Grenoble Alpes). He has been an Associate Professor with Lorraine University and carried out his research work with SPIN Team, Institut Jean Lamour (UL/CNRS) since 2012. From 2004 to 2007, he worked with SPINTEC Laboratory (Grenoble Alpes/CNRS/CEA) as a Ph.D. student. From 2008 to 2010, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Service de Physique de l’Etat Condensé, CEA Saclay, where he studied the mesoscopic electronic transport properties of systems based on ferromagnetic materials. From 2010 to 2012, he completed a second Postdoctoral Fellowship with the Institut d’Electronique Fondamentale (currently C2N), University of Orsay (currently Paris-Saclay). He specializes in spin electronics and nano-magnetism. His research topics include the study of magnetotransport phenomena, in particular the interconversion of charge current to spin current and vice versa, and magnetization dynamics in linear and nonlinear systems, particularly in spin-transfer torque nanoscillators. He was awarded the title of Doctor in Solid State Physics in 2007 for his work on the study of spin transfer torque in magnetic tunnel junctions.
