Savia Gavazza is Civil Engineer. Her PhD is in Civil Engineering, Hydraulics and Sanitation from USP (Brazil) in 2003. She is Full Professor at the Federal University of Pernambuco and Status Only Professor at the University of Toronto (UofT) (since 2017). She was visiting professor at Cornell University (2012-2013) and at the UofT (2016-2017). The biological treatment of domestic and industrial wastewater and rainwater supply for human consumption represent her major research lines.
