Sarah T. Crites

Sarah T. Crites received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL, USA, in 2010, and the Ph.D. degree in geology and geophysics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Honolulu, HI, USA, in 2014, with a focus on lunar remote sensing data analysis and processing. She is an International Top Young Fellow at the Institute of Space and Astronautical Studies, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (ISAS/JAXA), Sagamihara City, Japan. She has also worked extensively in the development of infrared hyperspectral imagers for laboratory, field, aircraft, and spacecraft applications in Earth and planetary science. Her current research interests include the application of cutting-edge methods in both instrumentation and software to geological remote sensing of the planets. She is currently a Research Fellow at JAXA. She is a member of the Martian Moons eXploration (MMX) Pre-Project Team, working on the development of a near-infrared hyperspectral imager and other technical payloads.
