The researches that have been conducted by Prof. SangYun Kim and his research team focused on the diagnosis and treatment of many diseases causing dementia or cognitive impairment, such as Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, and dementia with Lewy bodies, and also on human prion disorders. He leads two research teams, one is clinical research team and the other basic research team. This clinical research team has been working on many clinical trials for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia and do many clinical study to find the best way to diagnosis early and treat effectively many neurodegenerative disorders. His collaborative research team is also developing new disease-modifying drugs and a new biological marker for Alzheimer’s disease and prion diseases, using a new technique: multiple detection system.
