Salvador Sosa

Salvador Sosa Güitrón (Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in physics from the University of Puebla, Puebla, Mexico, in 2012, and the M.S. degree in physics and the Ph.D. degree in physics from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA, USA, in 2014 and 2018, respectively. From 2014 to 2018, he was a Research Assistant with the Center for Accelerator Science, Old Dominion University, his doctorate research covered topics in superconducting radio frequency and beam dynamics for the future Electron Ion Collider. He was developed at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility. He attended Summer internships at both the Jefferson Laboratory and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, in 2010 and 2012. He has attended numerous advanced classes of the United States Particle Accelerator School. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, The University of New Mexico. He is now researching applications of artificial intelligence to the control of particle accelerators. He is an user at both the Argonne National Laboratory and the Brookhaven National Laboratory. He was also a Founding Member of the Mexican Community for Particle Accelerators (CMAP), acting as a Secretary, during the term 2020–2021.
