Salim S. Hayek

Cardiologist and clinical investigator constantly striving for clinical and academic excellence. My clinical interests lie in cardio-oncology, preventive cardiology, and imaging. I have several years of research experience in translational science, risk prediction, biomarkers, vascular function, stem cell therapy amongst other fields. In addition to receiving several awards, I have authored over 75 peer-reviewed publications, many in the highest impact journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Medicine, Circulation, JACC, and others. My research interests lie in deciphering the mechanisms underlying the association between kidney and cardiovascular disease, as well as the integration of novel high-throughput technologies with the goal of optimizing patient care.
