The department of satellite technology at the University of Stuttgart focusses on three research fields: Small satellites: Development of new satellite technologies and verification in own missions, such as the Flying Laptop satellite with 110kg Space robotics: Development of technologies for robotic systems for extreme environments of planetary exploration Dust astronomy: Simulation of interstellar dust and development/operation of instruments for in-situ analyses (CDA/Cassini, DDA/Destiny+)
