Sian is nutritional epidemiologist. Her main interests are in the influences of diet and lifestyle across the lifecourse on health in later life, focusing particularly on inequalities in health in older age.  She has extensive experience of nutritional research, particularly in population studies - having previously worked with some of the large UK birth cohorts, and expertise in dietary assessment and analysis. She has been involved in a range of national nutrition activities over the past 20 years and is currently a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition (SACN) that advises the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) and other government organisations.
