Shari B Brosnahan

I am a clinical investigator trained in both pulmonary and critical care medicine. I have merged my clinical work in the intensive care and post ICU syndrome with my research focus on inflammation and thrombosis generation and management. Clinically, the vast majority of my time is spent as a medical intensivist in the medical ICU and the remainder in the pulmonary consult teams. My research time is divided between my VTE research activities and my role in NIH RECOVER initiative. As a co-investigator for the RECOVER Initiative, I have been tasked with organizing and operationalizing aspects of the study which required reading center oversight including: Sleep Studies, Pulmonary Function Tests, Echocardiograms, Cardiopulmonary Exercise Tests, CT- Scans of the Chest, MRIs of the Brain, and MRIs of the Chest. I have worked with a multicenter and multidisciplinary team to organize the standard operation procedures, data management, site training and certification, as well as implementation.
