I am an Associate Professor and Fellowship Site Director for Hematology and Oncology - Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center (VAMC). I am a medical oncologist with clinical and research expertise in thoracic malignancies and brain metastases and also am a principal investigator of several phase 1-3 human clinical trials and biomarkers studies. I have served as primary or co-PI of over 25 national clinical trials which include both Alliance and SWOG cooperative groups studies.

I currently direct the Oncology Clinical Trials Unit at the VAMC and am the Assistant Director for the Office of Cancer Health Equity with focus on minority accruals to trials at both Wake Forest Cancer Center and VAMC. My research interest are in thoracic oncology, brain metastasis, and cancer disparities which have led to several publications and grants. My translation research interests utilize metabolomics, genomics, and proteomics to develop biomarkers for clinical use.
