He has edited several books e special issues of scientific journals. He has organized several meetings and workshops, as well as some major international large meetings. He is in the editorial board of many journals and is a reviewer for more than 120 different journals. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine.

He has produced 1130 publications, including 950 articles published in scientific journals with referee, being 100 review papers or editorials. He has published 230 book chapters, 70 patents, and more than 1900 communications in conferences, including around 230 invited and plenary lectures in international meetings. His work has been cited more than 47000 times and he has an h-factor of 106.
