Professor Rui Daniel Prediger (http://lattes.cnpq.br/8755693197714639) holds a Pharmacy degree (Federal University of Santa Catarina, UFSC, Brazil, 2001), MSc and PhD in Pharmacology (UFSC, 2002 and 2005, respectively), and has worked as a postdoctoral research assistant at the Center for Neuroscience (University of Coimbra, Portugal, 2011). Currently, he is a Full Professor of Pharmacology (UFSC), an affiliate member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC) and coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Pharmacology (UFSC). He supervises MSc and PhD students, as well as postdocs, in the Pharmacology and Neuroscience postgraduate programs (UFSC), having completed the supervision of more than 60 students. He is a level 1 productivity fellow at CNPq and a member of several societies, such as the Brazilian Society of Pharmacology and Therapeutics (SBFTE, deliberative collegiate), Brazilian Society of Neurosciences and Behaviour (SBNeC), International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) and Society for Neuroscience (SfN). Dr Prediger is the author of 180 scientific articles published in international peer-reviewed journals, plus 10 book chapters, with more than 7,000 citations and an H index = 50. He is an associate editor for the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease and Frontiers in Pharmacology, and acts as ad hoc reviewer for more than 40 international scientific journals. Based on his expertise on Parkinson's disease (PD) and Alzheimer's disease (AD), he is a scientific advisor for the Brazilian Coffee Industry Association (ABIC), Michael J. Fox Foundation and Alzheimer's Disease Association.
