Richard is a Public Health researcher with a keen interest in Environmental determinants of Health. His areas of focus include Microbial and chemical exposures in the environment, Neglected tropical diseases, Urban Health as well as Water, sanitation & Hygiene especially in Institutions (healthcare facilities & schools), slums and emergencies. His research has been funded by the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), the Dutch Research Council, & the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation among others.
