Bio
Richard Simpson is a research agronomist with CSIRO Agriculture & Food where he leads a ‘Forage Systems’ research team working out of Canberra.
His work over 30 years has spanned a broad area of pasture systems agronomy including issues of pasture management, botanical composition, feeding value for livestock, plant nutrition and fertiliser use. He has provided agronomic support for the development the computer-based decision support tools (GrazFeed and GrassGro).
He is presently leading a national research program to reduce the phosphorus-fertiliser requirements of pastures in southern Australia.
