Research
Although Remko Uijlenhoet’s publications cover the full range of hydrological science,is main research interests are (1) the measurement and parameterization of the space-time variability of rainfall using ground-based remote sensing techniques and (2) the development of opportunistic sensing techniques as a novel way to inform hydrological science and applications (Keynote lecturefrom 10:10 to 18:55, AGU Fall Meeting 2019). His research group was among the first in the world to apply microwave links from cellular communication networks for rainfall monitoringand was the first to demonstrate that such networks can provide near real-time monitoring of the space-time dynamics of rainfall at the scale of an entire densely populated country
