I am a Speech-Language Pathologist, Cognitive, Neuroscientists Aphasiologist and Researcher. I have extensive clinical experience at acute and rehabilitation hospital settings. The main areas of my clinical expertise involve the diagnosis and management of acquired neurogenic communication disorders (e.g., aphasia, motor-speech disorders, and cognitive-communication impairments) following stroke, traumatic brain injury, brain tumours or neurodegenerative diseases. I also conduct Intraoperative speech and language mapping during awake craniotomy. My research interest focuses on understanding the neuroscience and neural correlates of language processing, and the nature of acquired language disorders. I am also interested in developing neuropsychological tests of language functions, and intervention programmes to improve language and cognitive functions following brain damage or neurological disorders. My research techniques include using Structural MRI and Lesion-symptom mapping, functional MRI, and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. I have experience in clinical training and supervision, as well as developing training frameworks, clinical guidelines and clinical competency checklists.
