Francesca Ratti

Francesca Ratti (Graduate Student Member, IEEE) received the M.Sc. degree (cum laude) in telecommunication engineering from the Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy, in 2018, with the thesis “A Computational Approach for Estimating the Information Capacity of an Engineered Cell-to-Cell Molecular Communication Channel.” She is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in information technology with the Politecnico di Milano and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA, under the supervision of Prof. M. Magarini and Prof. D. Del Vecchio. This research was developed during a six months visiting period with the University of NebraskaŰLincoln, Lincoln, NE, USA, in the lab of Prof. M. Pierobon. She collaborates with the Genomic Science Group of Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Milan. Her research interests include the study of molecular communications by applying and adapting concepts of digital communication and information theory to biological circuits.
