Raquel Niclos is Associate Professor at the Earth Physics and Thermodynamics Department of the University of Valencia since 2017. She received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Physics from the UV in 2000, 2002 and 2005, respectively. She has more than 20 years of research experience in Earth Physics, and her research interest mainly focus on thermal-infrared (TIR) remote sensing, atmospheric and emissivity corrections, calibration of TIR sensors, validation of satellite products of land and sea surface temperatures but also other related climate essential variables, meteorological and climate applications, and trends and impacts associated to climate change. She has published more than 45 papers in journals included in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR), around 90% (50%) in the top tercile (top decile) positions. She has also published more than 100 works as non-JCR papers, book chapters, and conference proceedings, she was editor of an international book about thermal remote sensing advances and has a patent. She has been supervisor of 7 Ph.D. theses, principal investigator of 4 R&D&i projects in competitive calls and 5 contracts with outstanding companies, but also has taken part in European projects (mainly funded by the European Space Agency, ESA), and member of 5 international scientific committees.
