My work focuses on exploring biologically-relevant interactions of metal compounds that have unique reactivities. Recently I've been exploring organometallic gold(III) compounds and gold(I)-phosphine compounds as topography probes and inhibitors for a variety of model zinc finger proteins, such as the HIV-1 nucleocapsid. This work is intrinsically mustidisciplinary, and connects the Coordination Chemistry background with Biochemistry and Molecular Biology applications. Some techniques explored include NMR, MS and IMS, computational methods such as DFT and Docking and XAS-based measurements.
