His work led to the identification of miRNA-based molecular signature associated with lymph node metastasis in breast cancer. In 2019, Dr. Elango joined Qatar Biomedical Research Institute’s Cancer Research Center as a postdoctoral researcher.
Dr. Elango has published more than 20 peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters.
Research Interests
Identification of molecular signatures associated with breast cancer resistance to chemotherapy using transcriptome and CRISPR/Cas9.
Identification of the microRNA and long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) molecular signature associated with pathological complete response to chemotherapy resistance in Triple Negative breast cancer (TNBC).
Functional characterization of the role of identified lncRNAs and miRNA in driving tumorogencity and treatment response.
