Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rafał Januszek, M.D., Ph.D. I am currently employed as a senior assistant at the University Hospital in Kraków, Department of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Interventions. I am a graduate of Jagiellonian University Collegium Medicum in Kraków, and have completed my specialisation in internal medicine in 2010, respiratory disease in 2015 and a specialisation in cardiology in 2019. Additionally I have started specialisation in angiology in 2021. In the years 2016-2021 employed at the Academy of Physical Education Bronisław Czech in Krakow, in 2019-2021 as a university professor. I have conducted research involving evaluation of the effects of statin treatment in patients with stable ischemic heart disease, and within the field of this research, I defended my doctoral degree at Collegium Medicum of Jagiellonian University in Kraków in 2014. I continued my research work, inter alia, on the effects of rehabilitation among patients with atherosclerosis of the lower limbs. In 2019, I was awarded the degree of habilitated doctor (assistant professor) of medicine at Jagiellonian University Collegium Medicum in Kraków. Apart from my professional experience related to acquired specialisations, I have experience in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases related to several years of my work at the Angiology Department of the University Hospital in Kraków and in the care and treatment of patients with end-stage renal disease undergoing renal replacement therapy due to many years of work experience at the haemodialysis units. Currently, interventional cardiology is within the spectrum of my main interests. In 2020 I was certified as the first operator in interventional cardiology. I am the author and co-author of over two hundred publications and conference reports. In 2020 I became a fellow at European Societ of Cardiology.
