Dr Rosalba Giacco is a researcher at the Institute of Food Science of the National Council of Research, Avellino, Italy. She graduated with honours in Medicine and specialised in Diabetes Care and Metabolic Diseases and Internal Medicine. She is member of the Diabetes and Nutrition Study Group of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD). The main field of her research activity is nutrition and metabolism, in particular the role of dietary fiber in glucose and lipid metabolism in patients with diabetes mellitus and other metabolic diseases. The scientific production in these particular fields is testified by full papers in peer-reviewed international journals or textbook chapters.
