个人简介
Becky Chaplin-Kramer is the Global Biodiversity Lead Scientist for World Wildlife Fund, working across the WWF network and with external partners to advance the science and implementation of conservation strategies to support biodiversity and its myriad contributions to people's well-being.
Prior to WWF, Becky was a lead scientist for the Natural Capital Project (NatCap), a transdisciplinary partnership between WWF and Stanford University, University of Minnesota, and The Nature Conservancy. In her work affiliated with both of NatCap's university partners, Becky led research on global ecosystem service assessment, linking earth observations and ecosystem service modeling, and accelerating the development of products and tools to integrate the values of nature into decision-making. Throughout her career, Becky has led ecosystem service assessments, scenario development and targeting exercises working with government, NGOs and companies around the world, from local to national to global scales. She was also a co-founder of the tech non-profit SPRING (springinnovate.org), which builds software solutions for environmental research and problem solving.
Becky was a Coordinating Lead Author on the Values Assessment for the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) and is now a Lead Author on the upcoming IPBES Nexus Assessment. She earned her PhD in Environmental Science, Policy and Management from University of California, Berkeley, and an MS and BS in Earth Systems from Stanford University.
