个人简介
My long-term research vision is to develop new therapies and advanced solutions for regenerative medicine and its translation to clinical practice. My career objectives are to utilize multidisciplinary knowledge and skills in materials, chemistry, biology and medicine to create new biomaterials that can be translated to the clinic. I completed my PhD in “Translational Medicine” at the Charles Institute of Dermatology in Prof Wenxin Wang’s group, School of Medicine, University College Dublin (UCD). During my PhD, my research project was focused on biomaterials design for skin wound healing, especially on the development of new biomaterials for stem cell delivery targeting diabetic wounds. Prior to that, I obtained my master’s degree in Plastic Surgery in 2012 and worked in the department of plastic surgery for over two years. I have over 9 years research experience, have built up broad and interdisciplinary research interests (e.g., tissue engineering, clinical translation, etc.) and accumulated diverse experimental skills (e.g. cell delivery, stem cell culture, animal studies, and organic and polymer synthesis). My main research achievements are the successful development of a series of injectable hydrogels from multifunctional hyperbranched biomaterials and their applications in various biomedical fields (e.g., skin wound healing, cartilage repair, aesthetic medicine, etc.), which is reflected by my over 30 high-impact peer-reviewed journal papers (16 of which are (co-)first author or corresponding author) and 4 conference presentations. I have also obtained multidisciplinary knowledge and skills required during my career development (such as competency of supervising students, leadership) and established extensive collaboration with world’s leading experts in the field of regenerative medicine.
