Pisters is on the Board of Directors for the Greater Houston Partnership and the CEO Roundtable on Cancer. In 2021 he was named a Top CEO by Glassdoor, ranking third out of 100 leaders nationally as part of the Employees' Choice Awards, and The Houston Business Journal named him one of Houston's Most Admired CEOs. He was also honored as CEO Communicator of the Year by the Public Relations Society of America's Houston Chapter in addition to being elected as a member of the Philosophical Society of Texas. In 2024, he was inducted as a fellow of the American Association for Physician Leadership. Pisters is also part of the Telluride Science Depot Advisory Board.
