Peter Finkel received the master’s degree in physics from Queens College at The City University of New York, Queens, NY, USA, in 1995, and the Ph.D. degree in materials science/low-temperature physics from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA, USA, in 2003. He is a Research Physicist at the Materials Science and Technology Division, U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, DC, USA. His research interests include experimental solid-state physics, magnetism, and materials science, with a focus in ferroelectric, magnetic, and ferromagnetic materials with more than 20 years of relevant experience in transduction devices, ultrasonics, and magnetic sensors. He currently leads several programs on the physics of multiferroic materials that involves developing novel structures with high magnetoelectric coupling and their applications.
