He is interested in the treatment of complex neurovascular diseases including the curative treatment of arteriovenous malformations, dural malformations, large and giant aneurysms, spinal vascular disorders, and pediatric vascular malformations. Amongst his clinical achievements, he was one of the pioneers of the use of stent retrievers in acute stroke and as one of the largest experiences with flow diverters world-wide. He has also performed multiple world-first cases using the most innovative devices in our field including SQUID (liquid embolic for AVM treatment), Pipeline Flex, and Surpass EVOLVE device for aneurysm treatment. He has described many techniques for AVM and dural fistula treatment and he has one of the largest transvenous and curative endovascular AVM treatment series internationally. He is also very interested in the diagnosis and treatment of intracranial venous diseases including intracranial idiopathic hypertension and pulsatile tinnitus. In terms of more recent achievements, he has performed the world’s first robotic neurovascular intervention and he is committed to the development of remote endovascular treatments in the near future.
