Paul R. Stoddart received the B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in physics and the Ph.D. degree in laser spectroscopy from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. After working on industry-focused surface science and microanalysis problems in the CSIR National Metrology Laboratory, he joined the Swinburne University of Technology in 2001, where he is currently the Director of the ARC Training Centre in Biodevices. He is also the Founder of Hearables 3D, which aims to make custom-fit in-ear devices available for everyone. His research interests include biophotonics and medical devices, with a particular focus on optical nerve stimulation and optical fiber biosensors based on Raman spectroscopy.
