I am a Public Health Physician, a trained field epidemiologist and clinical microbiologist, with more than 10 years of experience in epidemiological surveillance, laboratory management and experience in a large-scale household survey, and 4 years’ experience at managerial level. I am Skilled in Research, Clinical care, and teaching, with extensive technical expertise in the development of research protocols, concept and research papers. Over the years, I have participated in the development and approval of the Kaduna AIDS Indicators Survey (KADAIS 2016), the Nigeria HIV/AIDS Indicators and Impact Survey (NAIIS 2018), the COVID-19 Seroprevalence Survey, and the Evaluation National HIV Testing Algorithm protocols. I also led the development and dissemination of the NAIIS 2018 National and States Factsheets and Technical Reports. I have proven proficiency in public health program implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation of disease prevention and control programs for HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Malaria, maternal and child health in Nigeria. I am knowledgeable on the principles, theories and practices of USG and internationally recognized standards for surveillance and survey regulations and procedures, as well as the Nigerian government health care system and structures. I have good working knowledge of team management techniques to plan, organize and direct multidisciplinary project and activities, as well as good working knowledge of overall administrative requirements in development and support of grants, contracts, memoranda of understanding and cooperative agreements. I am technically proficient in surveillance, performance monitoring and evaluation of health programs, with vast experience in executing interventions to strengthen health systems as well as capacity building and development of work plans in public and non-profit sectors. I have good teaching skills which I gathered over the period I was training residents and lecturing medical students at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH)/ Bayero University (BUK) Kano.
